| Note | As with husband Robert McBride, we have no parental information for Sophia Dale. Her maiden name is first to be found in baptism information for her children in records of the Chalmers Presbyterian Church at Quebec City in the 1840s. Sophia appears with husband and children in Quebec City as of the 1851 census and in St. John's Ward, Toronto, in the 1861 census. In 1871, the couple are in West Toronto and have with them only two children, Sophia 17, and Agnes 8. The 1881 census shows Sophia in St. John's Ward, Toronto, and with her is daughter Agnes. On the same page is shown David Rome with his wife, Sophia, Sophia Dale McBride's daughter. Sophia appears in the 1891 census, age 76. She is with John and Agnes Fawcett. Agnes McBride Fawcett is her youngest daughter. Sophia died in 1895 and is buried with her husband in Toronto Necropolis Cemetery. Death reg.021610-95 Toronto, York Co.
