Death | He died on 29 April 1852. |

Note | The image of the baptism document is badly faded. It is taken from the Chalmers Presbyterian Church record book for the year 1852. This is to be found in the Drouin Collection and is presented by Ancestry. With much squinting, the following may be made of it: Robert McBryde and his spouse Sophia McBryde in Quebec had a son born the twenty fourth day of October one thousand eight hundred and fifty one - baptised by me the fourth day of January following and named James. Signed Wm. Barker, min'r Robert McBryde Something badly faded is written below Robert's name. It isn't clear that the signature spells his name as McBryde or McBride. Indeed, it may or may not be his signature, but copied to the book by the clergyman from another document. And from the 26th leaf of the Chalmers church record book for the same year of 1852 we find a record of James' burial as follows: Burial James MacBride son of Robert MacBride and his spouse Sophia MacBride died the twenty ninth of April eighteen hundred and fifty two and was buried the first day of May of the same year There is a signature written beneat, barely legible, but may be something like D. Fraser. Below that appears the signature Robert McBride, father. Whethere the latter is actually Robert's signature or copied in from another document is debatable. There is nothing here to tell us the name of the cemetery wherein James is buried. |
