| Note | The 1861 census at Toronto would appear to show two daughters of Robert and Sophia that were named Mary. A Mary, age 12, is shown, as well as a Mary, age 4. Mary, age 4, would appear to be correct. She appears in the 1871 census with sister Jane and her husband Duncan Aitken. Here, Mary is shown as age 14. Either an error was made in the 1861 census, or there was another sister. This remains to be sorted out. |
