Death reg. 010211-89 Delaware, Middlesex County
Agnes Colvin died Dec. 31, 1889. Age 81. Born Scotland. Presbyterian. Physician Dr. Routledge. Informant Andrew Colvin, Delaware.
Registered June (or January) 5th, 1889.

Considering that Agnes' death registration is the first one on the page and later ones are all early 1889, The entry of 1889 as her year of death should be 1888. The month of registration appears to be June, though the writing is messy enough that January might be intended.

A transcription of Agnes' gravestone shows her year of death as 1888.

After Andrew's death in 1881, Agnes may have gone directly to Delaware to live with her son, Andrew Colvin Jr. It's also possible that she lived with other children at diverse times.

Agnes made her will on 11 April 1888 in Delaware Township, Middlesex County. She left most of her estate to her son Andrew. Also mentioned in her will is her daughter-in-law Mary Colvin, her daughter Agnes Brown, wife of John Brown of Ingersoll, and her grand daughter Maggie Colvin. Her Jedburgh property in North Dumfries is referred to as the house and lot at lot three on the east side of Main Street in the village of Jedburgh.

Such records as we have that show Agnes's surname are handwritten. Some transcriptions show her name as Low. A reading of the available records, for the most part, isn't helpful. This tree relies on the death registration of her son Andrew Colvin in Delaware in 1926. It has the air of careful entry about it and Andrew's mother's name appears to be written as Law.
