| Note | Purvis Douglas Lawrson and his wife Charlotte are present in South Dumfries at the time of the 1851 census. Initially at least, the birth years of their children are estimated from this census. They will be approximate. The History of the County of Brant, Warner & Beers, 1880, on page 668, has an excellent personal history of Purvis Douglas Lawrason. It gives his dates of birth and death and states that he was buried on a Sunday. Since the Sunday following his death was 24 October, 1880, we note that for the date of his burial. The gravestone for Purvis and Charlotte is a large one and made of a soft stone. The names and dates on the stone appear in relief, except for the inscription for their son-in-law, Thomas Fawcett, the husband of Sarah Lawrason. His name and other information is inscribed.
