As noted, Eliza is said to have been born in Waterloo. This could be the village, though it more likely refers to the township. There does seem to have been a connection with George and the Chandler family and the town of Preston, which is in Waterloo Township, but just what this was remains unclear.

NoteDaniel Roelofson and Eliza Main were married in Wentworth County, probably in Beverly Township, in 1864. They are present in Beverly at the time of the 1871 census. With them are children Electa 6, Alvenetta 4, and Gertrude 2. The 1900 census at Millbrook Township, Mecosta County, Michigan, shows them coming to the U.S. in 1875.

Census information and Michigan marriage registrations are our sources of information for their children.
