| Note | A death registration for James H. Dickson has not been found. We have, however, James' funeral card information. This is provided by Norma Huber who records this in her book Funeral Notice Cards of Waterloo County, from 1851 to 1980, page 121. It reads as follows: Died In North Dumfries, this (Wednesday) morning, at 6 o'clock, James H. Dickson, Aged 94 years, 3 months, 5 days./ funeral,/ On Friday afternoon, 7th inst., at half-past 1 o'clock. from the residence of Mr. George Elvin, Lot 1, con. 12, to Mount View Cemetery. Friends and acquaintances will please accept this intimation. N. Dumfries, Feb. 5th, 1896. James' Date of birth is calculated from this. Note that the 1891 census records James as being present in the home of Mr. George Elvin, apparently his son-in-law, with his daughter Jane. This is in the Township of North Dumfries in Waterloo County. The 1881 census has James and Hannah in the home of son-in-law Alexander Dickieson of North Dumfries Township. |
