Witnesses William Curry of Hallowell and Jenny Richardson of Guelph. On March 9, 1859. At first glance, Reuben's place of birth appears to be Holland. A closer look at the handwriting makes it clear that it was Hallowell, which was a township in, at that time, the Prince Edward District. Later, this was Prince Edward County. Reuben's death registration shows his place of birth as Picton, which was a town in Hallowell. |

Note | The Guelph branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society has a transcription of Woodland Cemetery in Guelph. This shows that Annie is buried with her first husband, R. C. Curry, M.D. He died on May 16, 1906, at age of 76. She is shown as Annie Jackson Curry, wife of Thomas Tilt, who died July 19, 1914, aged 74 years. The Wesleyan Methodist baptisms show the birth of Annie Jackson at Guelph on March 29, 1840, and her baptism by Rev. Benj. Slight, at Guelph on August 23, 1840. Transcriptions for these baptisms as done by Ida Reed may be found on the web site of Bill Martin of Thunder Bay. The page images by be found on the website for bowergenealogy.ca. Both are excellent resources for Wesleyan Methodist baptisms. The 1901 census shows Annie's birth year as 1841. The baptism record showing her birth year as 1840 will be correct. This rather especially since she was baptized later in 1840. Death reg. 033405-14 Guelph, Wellington Co. Annie Tilt died at Guelph July 19, 1914, age 74 years. Born in Guelph. Housewife. Married.
