NoteMargaret Adair Keachie is shown in the Franklin Keachie chart as the daughter of Thomas Keachie and Margaret Kelly. It dates her birth to 13 April, 1804, in New York. Her gravestone appears with family connections by the name of Cavers and McArthur in section 4 of Mountview Cemetery in Cambridge/Galt. The Waterloo Region branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society provides a transcription of her stone, which reads:

Margaret A. Keachie, wife of James Milroy, died 1st July 1837, aged 33 yrs and 79 days.

Her age at time of death calculates her birth to 13 April, 1804, and agrees with the Keachie chart, which information may well be taken from the stone, or, just perhaps, Margaret's original stone. It should be noted that Margaret's year of death, 1837, is thirty years prior to the establishment of Mountview Cemetery in Galt and that she was probably first buried in the Strang Burial Ground at High Park.

While this grave plot in Mountview shows Cavers and McArthur burials, it is very much a Milroy plot. Jane Milroy Cavers is buried here as well as Mary Ann Milroy McArthur. Considering that James Milroy married Margaret Milroy (her surname as shown in the First Church marriage record) in 1839, the death year of 1837 as inscribed on this stone for Margaret Adair Keachie will no doubt be correct, even though it is almost certainly not Margaret's original gravestone.

The Strang Burial Ground was razed in the mid 1880s and remains (most) and stones (some) were moved to Mountview. Mostly, death information was inscribed on newer family stones.
