Death | She died in 1893. |
Burial | She was buried at Annan Cemetery, Annan, Grey County. |
Note | Agnes Matilda Milroy is with her sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Andrew Cavers, at the time of the 1861 census at Galt. She has evidently not gone to Iowa with her father, step-mother, and half-siblings. In 1862, she married John Thomson of Sydenham Township, Grey County, and appears to have spent the rest of her life there. Her brother-in-law Andrew Cavers was witness at her marriage. The marriage registration is particularly useful, for it names her mother as Margaret Keachie. The 1871 census shows them in Sydenham and there are two Cavers families on the page. It would appear that Agnes met her husband by way of the Cavers. The 1891 census shows Agnes' mother's place of birth as the U.S.A., which is correct. John Thomson is shown variously in census years as a merchant, farmer, and postmaster. Clear and satisfactory death registrations for Agnes Matilda and John have not been found. One photo available for their gravestone is not clear and the given interpretation does not agree with their years of birth, but indexed information is to be found, perhaps based on an OGS transcription and this agrees with at least Agnes' approximate year of birth. Clearly, they are buried in Annan Cemetery in Grey County. |
