Rosemary Ambrose extracted marriage notices from the Dumfries Reformer, 1860-65. Noted is the 18th January 1860 edition of the paper which tells of the marriage of James and Janet on the 17th. The notice locates the marriage in Beverly and tells that Janet is the 3rd daughter of Alexander Harvey (Harvie). The marriage should have been recorded in the Wentworth County marriage register, but the Harvie residence, in Beverly, was only a short distance along a side road from North Dumfries Township.

The birth date for James A. Keachie is taken from the 1901 census. He is alone with a house keeper, Louise Wight, age 41. He appears to be living next door to James Keachie, born Feb. 4, 1860, and his family. This James appears to be the son of James A. Keachie's brother, Alex.
