Note | Hamilton branch of the OGS has in its transcription of Troy Cemetery a grave for Margaret Laidlaw, wife of Adam, who died December 24, 1846. It is believed that Adam and Margaret Laidlaw were the parents of Adam who was born in 1832. The transcription indicates that there are worn and illegible gravestones around Margaret's. Probably, Adam, father of Adam, is buried here as well. According to the 1861 census, Adam Laidlaw Sr. was still living. Death reg. 033644-12 Beverly Township, Wentworth Co. Available transcriptions (Harley Misener's and that of the Hamilton Branch of the OGS) do not show a clear burial for Adam Laidlaw in Troy Cemetery, though two of his wives are shown as being there and the third, Phelinda, has it on her death registration that she is buried in Troy. |
