Witness Jane Coleman will be the daughter of Dan Coleman and Mary Able. She would be a first cousin of Allen's.

The marriage registrations of this era do not typically provide the place of marriage. The registration was to be entered in the registration book of the county where the marriage took place, but this is likely not always certain. The clergyman, however, was of the Methodist Episcopal Church and since there was such a church at Troy, this is the probable location of the marriage.
