     Christian Betts was born on 15 October 1777 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Andrew Betts and Catherine Sherbondy.2,3 He married first Elizabeth Birch, daughter of James Birch and Sarah Buckley, in 1800 in Pennsylvania.1 He was left a widower when Elizabeth Birch died on 31 March 1844.4 He married second Hannah Englehaupt in 1845.1,5 He died on 21 June 1853 in Green, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, at age 75.1 He was buried in State Line Cemetery, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG.1
