| Marriage | She married Clayton McPherson Walker, son of Thomas Melville Walker and Elizabeth Kinsey, on 22 February 1898 at Niagara Falls. A marriage registration for Clayton and Kate has not been found. Interestingly, there was an era, around 1910, when birth registrations would ask for marriage information of the parents of a child. Elizabeth Margaret Walker was born at the family's residence at the corner of John and Shuter Streets in Wingham in 1910. This tells that her parents were married on February 22nd, 1898, at 'Niagara Falls, So.' Niagara Falls, So.? Does So. mean South. Were they married in Niagara Falls, New York? Certainly, no record of the marriage has be found for Niagara Falls, Ontario. Something may yet turn up. |

| Note | The 1901 census shows Kate's date of birth as November 3, 1867; her death registration shows it to be November 3, 1866. Her gravestone in Wingham Cemetery tells that she was born in 1870. Kate's death registration shows her parents as George W. Stiff, born England, and Mary Jane Ussher, born Montreal. They have not been found in early census information. She does appear in the 1881 census in Ingersoll and is shown as age 13. Death reg. 020217-41 Stephen Twp., Huron Co. Kate Walker died June 3rd, 1941. Age (handwriting scribbled.)
