| Note | According to a transcription of Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford, as done by the Brant County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, Jane died in 1919 and is buried with her husband, John R. Aitchison. A death registration, however, has not been found for Jane. As of the 1911 census in Battleford, Saskatchewan, she is with sons George and Walter. She has not been found in the 1916 Western census as of yet, so it may well be that she returned to Ontario. An obituary, if found, may tell the story. It is not unheard of for persons to die in the prairie provinces only to have their remains returned via railroad to Ontario for burial. |
