NoteFor some background information for the family of Obed Willson and Hannah Vasbinder, at least initially, see notes for daughter Deborah.

Obed's name was sometimes spelled with one L - Wilson. Hannah's last name, for the moment shown as Vasbinder, is also variously spelled. Willson with 2 LL's is used here as it seems the more common spelling of the name.

For the following, in part, see page 243 of Vol .1, Ancaster's Heritage, Lot 14, Conc. 2, by Mrs. William K. Dunham.

Mrs. Dunham tells that Obed purchased the north half of this lot in 1813. This may be generally confirmed by the Abstract Index page as presented by Onland.ca. This is listed for Ancaster's Book 251 and reads (somewhat paraphrased):

C2-L14 Obid Wilson purchased the north half on 12 March 1813, regd 10 Apr1 1819. This from the executors of Hon Robert Hamilton.

This same page shows a will for Obed Wilson Senr. dated 8 July 1847, but not registered until 21 October 1947. Bk A, regn nbr 35. It is probable that Obed died in October of 1847.

Mrs. Dunham shows his death simply as being in 1847 and this is shown as such in this tree.

A place of burial for Obed has not been found. Obed Willson Junior is buried in Drumbo Cemetery in Blenheim Township of Oxford County, not so far away from Ancaster Township.
