Jacob Beck to Caroline Logus, both of Waterloo. 26 Jan 1843. By Licence.

Rev. Huttner was located at Preston. Typically, district and county marriage registers do not show the exact location of a given marriage, though, probably, the marriage was held at Preston.

MarriageHe married Charlotte Josephine Hespeler, daughter of Johann Georg Hespeler and Anna Barbara Wick, on 19 October 1845 at Wellington District.
See Marriage Registers of Upper Canada / Canada West, Wellington District, Vol. 9, Part 1, 1840-1852, compiled by Dan Walker & Fawne Stratford-Devai, Global Heritage Press, 2000, page 36.

Extracted from a list of marriages solemnized by Rev'd Jacob Huttner, Lutheran Minister, Preston.

Jacob Beck to Charlotte Hespeler, both of Waterloo. 19 Oct., 1845, by Licence.

The Wellington District marriage register is not to be found at the Archives of Ontario, but is in the hands of the Wellington County Museum at Fergus and is microfilmed. The old Wellington District included townships that are in the present day counties of Wellington, Dufferin, Waterloo, Grey, and Perth. All of present day Waterloo County was in the Wellington District with the exception of North Dumfries Township which was in the Gore District.

Rev. Huttner was located at Preston, which is in the bounds of Waterloo Township and now a part of the City of Cambridge. This does not mean that the marriage of Jacob and Charlotte was performed in Preston, though this is probably the case.

Physician James A. Winter. Informant George Beck, Detroit.
Burial Preston, Ont., March 22, 1906.

The burial date, March 22, probably isn't accurate.

The number of the children that Jacob fathered isn't well written, but almost certainly is 7. The list of children found is 6. Given the 6 year spread between the births of sons William and Adam, that Jacob and Charlotte had at least 7 children is probably correct.
