Extracted from a list of marriages solemnized by Rev'd Jacob Huttner

Jacob Beck to Caroline Logus, both of Waterloo. 26 Jan 1843. By Licence.

Rev. Huttner was located at Preston. Typically, district and county marriage registers do not show the exact location of a given marriage, though, probably, the marriage was held at Preston.

DeathShe died in 1844.
NoteLooking over the list of children for Jacob Beck and his wife, Charlotte Hespeler, it seemed reasonable that son Charles was the product of a previous marriage. The brief story for this is to be found in the biography of their son Adam Beck, later Sir Adam Beck, of Ontario Hydro fame.

Jacob's first wife was Caroline Logus and (see marriage notes) a record of their marriage has survived in the Wellington District Marriage Register. The biography tells that Caroline died shortly after the birth of her son Charles. This will have been either in 1844 or early 1845. A record of her date of death and place of burial has yet to be found.
