Nbr. 70 By license in Dumfries
June 10, 1839
John Kirkpatrick and Anna Shupe, both of Waterloo.
Witnesses Sylvanus Cornell and Susan Mulholland
John and Anna were married by license in Dumfries Township by Rev. James Strang of First Church, Galt, but they were probably not affiliated with the church, for the First Church baptisms record no Kirkpatrick children.
The record places John and Anna as being of Waterloo, probably the township. The southern border of Waterloo Township was only a little to the north of Galt.
|Marriage||He married Jane Philp.|
|Death||He died on 11 January 1892 at Galt, Waterloo Co..|
|Burial||He was buried at Section 2, Mountview Cemetery, Galt, Waterloo Co..|
|Note||John's place of birth is shown as County Antrim, Ireland, on his death registration. This agrees with census information. Son John's death registration, however, shows his father's birth as being 'on the ocean'.|
Death reg. 017865-92 Galt, Waterloo Co.
