Scott, 25, born Scotland, residing Morris. Parents James and Mary Scott. Mary J. Culham, 21, born and residing Beverly. Parents Henry and Destimony Culham. Witnesses John Ward and Benj. Ward, both of Dumfries. On January 9, 1862. The above marriage was, with two others, certified by Rev. Michael Fawcett, Wesleyan Methodist minister, but he notes that the marriages were actually performed by Rev. William Lund, 'now in Woodstock'. Morris, the residence of Alexander, isn't at all clear and does not show up on maps of the era. Glen Morris, which was in South Dumfries, may be what was intended. |

Born Scotland, residing Galt. Parents James and Mary Scott. Sage Culhan (Culham), 40, spinster, Methodist. Born Toronto, residing Hamilton. Parents James and Mary Culhan (Culham). Witnesses Geo. Culhan and A. Culhan (they are George and Almira Culham), Sheffield, Ont. On January 21st, 1879, by B. B. Keefer. Alex Scott's correct middle initial is K. The F. as shown will be a handwriting issue, probably that of the clergyman. Alexander and Mary Jane and Sage are all buried together in Mountview Cemetery in Galt and Alex's middle initial is shown as K. Sage will be a cousin of Mary Jane's, her father probably a brother of Henry Culham, though this hasn't been researched. |

| Note | The 1871 census shows Alexander and Mary Jane as being in Galt. He is shown as a farmer, so it seems reasonable that this was actually on Galt's outskirts. The previous household is that of Mary Jane's widowed sister, Melinda Stewart, and her two year old daughter Desdemonia, so spelled. Death reg. 031742-24 North Dumfries Twp., Waterloo Co. Alexander K Scott died June 29, 1924. Place of death East River Road. C. 9 (concession 9? There appears to be lot information as well, but it isn't clear.) Age 87 yrs., 10 mos., 15 dys. Born Scotland Aug. 14, 1837. Farmer. At place of death 70 years. Parents James Scott and Mary Niven, both born Scotland. Informant Mrs. J. H. Steele, Galt, daughter. Burial Galt. Physician Dr. S. E.
