Almira Richards
ID # 4385, (1847-1922)
Birth | Almira Richards was born in 1847. |
Marriage | She married George Culham, son of Henry Culham and Desdemona Ann Munn, on 12 May 1867 at Waterloo County. MS248 reel 16 Vol. 76, page 41 Waterloo County Extracted from a list of marriages solemnized by Chas. McKelvey, a minister of the Methodist Church, for the year 1867 George Culham, 25, born Canada, residing Beverly. Parents Henry and Desdemona. Almira Richards, 20, born Canada, residing Beverly. Parents Joseph and Sarah Mariah. Witnesses Thos. Aikins and Jas. Hood, both of Galt On May 12, 1867. Such information as is available seems to link Rev. Chares McKelvey with the New Connection Methodist Church and have him headquartered in Hamilton, Ontario. The above marriage is from a list of six marriages performed in 1867 and registered in Waterloo County. It's tempting to wonder if traveling clergy betimes registered a marriage in the wrong county, but the witnesses for the marriage of George and Almira resided in Galt, so a Waterloo County marriage in this case is probably correct. |
