Parents Henry and Distamony Ann. Witness Angus S. Crolley (at some point, someone wrote 'Keachie' above the name Crolley) of Dumfries On 21 March 1867. |

| Note | Millinde's birth date is calculated from the inscription on her stone. It may be approximate. Her name appears as Millinde on her stone. It appears as Melinda on her death registrations. Her death was registered twice, once in North Dumfries and once in Galt. The Galt registration does not bear a registration number. This was early days for reporting and there is variance as how to these are recorded with the Archives of Ontario. The time period is such that there may actually be one or two more copies. Death reg. Galt, Waterloo County Melinda Stewart died 28 May 1874, age 29, widow, Presbyterian. Physician Dr. Lundy. Informant Mulvina Keachie, married, Galt. Filed on 28 August 1874. Cause of death consumption eighteen months. Death reg. 010975-74 North Dumfries Twp., Waterloo Co. Melinda Stewart died 28 May 1874, age 33. Widow of J. K. Stewart. Presbyterian. Phyisician and informant Dr. J. B. Lundy of Beverly. Cause of death consumption two years. Filed 4th July, 1874. It's evident that Melinda Culham Stewart and Melvina Culham Keachie were sisters. Dr. Lundy's registration is the earlier by several weeks. That Melinda died in North Dumfries Township is likely correct. Melinda's gravestone reads: IMO Millinde Culham/widow of the late/Jas. K. Stewart/died May 28, 1874/aged 27 yrs. 2 mo./Sister, thou art gone to rest/And this shall be our prayer/That when we reach our journey's end/Thy glory we may share. |
