Note | Microfilm MS451 reel 98 places Mark Maw in the Maw family plot at Greenwood Cemetery in Georgetown. The transcription of his stone tells that he died on April 7, 1870, aged 36 years. His wife Sarah Maw died Nov. 19, 1888, aged 50 years.
The 1871 census at Georgetown (see microfilm C9957) has a page of deaths which occurred within the previous twelve months. Noted at the bottom of the entered information is recorded the death of Mark Maw, age 36, Congregationalist, born Ontario, farmer. His month of death is shown as April and the cause was typhoid fever. The remarks column reads 'an isolated case.'
The 1871 census also shows Mark's wife Sarah in Georgetown. She has with her seven children, the oldest being 14 and the youngest, 8 months, being born the previous September. |
