Note | After the death of Samuel Doud, Eleanor married Hiram Shaw. They appear in Townsend Township at the time of the 1861 and 1871 censuses. Eleanor's mother, Annie Buck, is with them at the time of the 1861 census. Eleanor has a number of Shaw children with her. Doud children are not in immediate evidence, but Ira, Mary and John Shaw, so shown, are in fact Doud children. In 1871, again, Mary and John are present, this time with their correct names - Doud, as well as three Shaw children.
By the time of the 1881 census, Hiram and Ellen (she seems to have commonly gone by Ellen) are in the village of Waterford. Death registrations or places of burial for Hiram and Eleanor have not been found. |
