Informant Hiram Shaw, Townsend. The Norfolk County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society transcribed Culver Cemetery. The available transcription is an update done in 2007, though the original was apparently done in the 1990s. Florence's stone must have been worn at the time for the transcription reads: Florence F. / Dau. of / Hiram & Eleanor J. Shaw / Died 28 June 1873 / Aged 19 yrs. 4 mo. & 26 days. The death registration is quite clearly written and Florence's age agrees with her approximate age as shown in the 1871 census. Florence was age ten, not nineteen, when she died in 1873. |
