Elizabeth Russell, age 75 yrs., 6 mos., born Ontario, died at Hospital for Incurables on 14 April, 1926. Resided place of death for four years. Parents John Stone and Harriett Gould, both born England. Burial April 17, 1926, at Niagara Falls (Fairview Cemetery). Informant Thomas Thompson, 129 Langley Ave., no relation.

We do not know the sequence of events that brought Elizabeth to marry George Russell in Niagara Falls in 1895. Her marriage registration states that she was born in Markham, and she is to be found in the 1851 census at Markham with parents John and Harriet Stone. By the time of the 1861 census, the family is in Pickering Township. Elizabeth is shown as age 10 and also present are sisters Susan, age 8, and Henrietta, age 4.

A record of Elizabeth's first marriage has not been found.
