     Rachel Shaver was born about 1817 in Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1 She married John Mulholland, son of Hugh Mulholland and Mary Wedge.1 She was left a widow when John Mulholland died on 12 July 1877.2 She died on 15 January 1898 of acute bronchitis in Beverly Twp, Ontario.1 She was buried in Troy Cemetery, Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.3,4

Rachel's obituary in the Hamilton Spectator, Hamilton, Ontario, on 21 February 1898 read:
"MULHOLLAND (Sheffield) - Mrs. J. Mulholland, who has been residing with her daughter, Mrs. J. Cornell, died on Saturday night last. The funeral took place from her residence to Troy cemetery on Monday."3
