| Note | Death reg. 005880-82 Collingwood Twp., Grey Co. Charlotte Gibson died March 16th, 1882, age 96 years. Farmer's wife. Born Ireland. Church of England. Physician Dr. R. H. Hunt. Informant Joseph Moscrop, son in law to deceased. Filed March 25th, 1882. Charlotte's maiden name may be Boodle as it appears on the transcription provided by the Bruce-Grey branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society for Joseph and Charlotte's gravestone in Thornbury-Clarksburg Cemetery in Collingwood Township. The death registration for Charlotte's daughter, Charlotte Gibson Lougheed, shows her mother's maiden name to be Bodell. This is probably closer to being correct. For a discussion of the Joseph and Charlotte's ages, see notes for Joseph. In the above death registration, the informant's surname, while oddly spaced out, has the look of being Moscrop. As it happens, this is indeed correct. One only has to look for Joseph Moscrop in the 1881 census to find him and his wife Jamima in Collingwood Township. With them are a number of children, the names of whom leave no doubt as to the family connection. Indeed, one of their children is named 'Gibson'. |
