Fretz tells that Asa was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on March 14, 1795, and that he died September 30, 1869. Asa's wife Elizabeth is buried in Ramer Cemetery. Her stone has been transcribed by the York Region branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, which is numbered as stone number 40 in the Ramer Cemetery. Stone number 39 gets only a mention as being broken. It may well be Asa's gravestone, but we have no sure information for that. We rely on Fretz for Asa's dates of birth and death. The family is said by Fretz to be Mennonite. |
