This dates her death to November 12, 1860, and shows her age at her time of death as being 62 years, 10 months, 8 days. The 1851 census shows both Asa and Elizabeth present in Markham Township with a family. Asa is shown as 57 and Elizabeth as 54. Both are shown as being born in Pennsylvania and as Mennonites. Their children are shown as belonging to the Christian denomination. Asa, age 66, and apparently a widower, appears in the 1861 census. His place of birth is shown as Pennsylvania. With him is his son, Asa Jr., age 26. He is shown as being born in Markham. |
