Cardwell, which appears with the county name at the top of the page was an Electoral District. These are sometimes shown. Wikipedia shows Cardwell as covering only the Simcoe County townships of Adjala and Mono. Library and Archives Canada shows Cardwell as covering Dufferin-Simcoe. The real story is probably a bit more complicated, but the registrar who entered Cardwell on the Tottenham marriages is likely right, and Tottenham is in Tecumseth according to Canada Post. |
