| Father | John Kinsey (1800-1852) |
| Mother | Elizabeth Moxley (1806-1883) |
| Baptism | Joseph Kinsey was baptized in 1837 at Waterloo Township, Wellington District. |
| Marriage | He married Emma Hamilton on 12 January 1865 at Waterloo County. MS248 reel 17, Vol. 76, page 25 Waterloo County Marriage Register Extracted from a list of marriages solemnized by M. MacKenzie, a minister of the Canada Presbyterian Church, for the year ended the 31st day of December, A.D. 1865 (Not filed with the county registrar until 11th Feby., 1867) Joseph Kinzie, 27, born and residing Waterloo Township. Parents John Kinzie and Elizabeth Moxley. Emma Hamilton, 24, Born London, England, residing Waterloo Township. Parents Thos. Hamilton and Emma Stanton. Witnesses Thos. Hamilton and Emma Stanton, both of Waterloo. On January 12, 1865. The above does have the look, correct or not, of the marriage being witnessed by the bride's parents. The Waterloo Region branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society published a record of baptisms at the (apparently) twin charge of the Doon and Hespeler Presbyterian churches. This does not have the look of a complete record, though the Society will have recorded the available records. It is evident that Rev. Malcom MacKenzie did baptisms at almost certainly both churches and, in which event, probably married Joseph and Emma at the Doon Church. The county marriage records are not usually clear as to where a marriage was performed. Perhaps a church record would tell the tale. These, for the moment, are unavailable to your researcher. |
