Burtch, both of 192 Main St. E., Galt. On Thirty First day of August, 1935, at Galt, by C. C. MacDonald of 188 Main Street, United Church of Canada. Rev. MacDonald was at the time the minister of First United Church. First was formerly, prior to church union, a Presbyterian Church, and had long been the church of the McKenzie family. On her marriage registration, Olive shows her place of birth as Hespeler. Her birth registration places her birth in Waterloo Township. Hespeler is indeed in Waterloo Township and, at a guess, Hespeler was the family's postal address when Olive was born. |

Note | Birth reg. 044419-01 Ancaster Twp., Wentworth Co. George Maxwell Brown born Sept. 27, 1901. Parents George E. Brown, farmer, lot 32 con. 5, and Roda E. House. Physician G. D. Farmer, M.D. Informant George E. Brown. When Maxwell and Olive were married in Galt in 1935, Maxwell's place of residence was shown as Buffalo, N. Y. The 1940 U. S. census shows Max and Olive in Snyder, Amhurst Township, Erie County, New York, where Max is shown as a mechanic in an automobile factory. How long they resided there is unknown, but they first appear in the Vernon's Directory for Galt in the 1970 edition. They reside in an apartment at 18 Spruce Street. Find-a-Grave shows an obituary for Maxwell Brown which was provided by Allan Dettweiler. This dates Maxwell's death to Thursday, August 11, 1988, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital. The funeral was held Saturday, August 13, from Little's Funeral Home, followed by interment in Mountview Cemetery. |
