| Note | For the very little that we know of Margaret McLean Shepherd, see notes for husband Duncan. Her year of death, shown here as 1848, is entirely arbitrary, though is not likely far off. This was before the era of death registrations. Perhaps an obituary will yet be found for her. One other thing, again not proven, but she almost certainly was buried in the old First Church Cemetery at High Park (now Centennial Park) on the moraine overlooking downtown Galt from the east side. She is almost certainly buried with son William and, taking Duncan's obituary into consideration, two daughters as well. It does not appear that their remains or gravestones were taken to Mountview when the First Church cemetery was razed. |
