| Note | The parish book of baptisms for St. Anne, Limehouse, tells that Frederick's full name was Frederick Oliver Lovett. (His paternal grandmother was an Oliver.) The baptism page, 99, shows Frederick parents as William Edward and Ellen Lovett. Their abode is East India Road and father William is said to be a shipwright.
Frederick's older brother, William Henry Lovett, was also baptized at St. Anne, Limehouse. On his entry, the family abode is said to be Poplar. East India Road was, perhaps still is, in Poplar (whether the whole of it at the time, your researcher is unsure), but the family must certainly have resided in Poplar at the time of Frederick's birth, if for no other reason than the baptism record for Frederick's next born sibling, Ada, shows the family in Poplar, though by this time at 4 Caledonian Terrace. |
