NoteCharlotte appears with her parents in the 1861 census in Kingston and is shown as age 1.

As of the 1871 census, the family is in District E of the Cataraqui Ward of the City of Kingston and Charlotte is shown as age 12.

By 1881, the family is in East Toronto. Charlotte is with her parents and shown as age 22. Also present in the household is a laborer, Robert Turner, age shown as 24. We must believe him to be her future husband, for she married Robert turner on 24th August, 1882.

Robert and Charlotte Turner are in the St. James Ward of Centre Toronto as of the 1891 census. They have with them four children.

Charlotte died in 1898. Her death registration is the typical two pager of the day and quite faded. More readable is the page that show her burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto. This is presented in a cooperative effort between the Toronto branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and Familysearch. The page is dated 1898 and tells that Charlotte died on 12 March 1898 and was buried on the 14th. Her age is shown as 38. It tells that she was born in Kingston and died in Toronto. The grave number is 1165 (section not given) and the purchaser was Robert E. Turner. (A readable copy of Charlotte's death registration has been found and is no more informative than her burial information - below. Ancestry has this, but under York County.)

Death reg. 025005-98 Toronto, York Co.
Charlotte Turner died March 12, 1898. Age 38. Residence 57 Mission. Housewife. Born Canada. Methodist. Cause of death hemorrhage. Physician and informant Dr. McPhedran.

The cause of death shown for Charlotte was a hemorrhage. We must believe that this was during child labour. Mount Pleasant Cemetery Group has a page for looking up places of burial. Charlotte's grave is shown to be in Section N, grave number 1165. When a search was made for Charlotte there also came up the name of an infant, Charlotte Turner, age 1, also buried in the same grave. This in turn led back to the Mount Pleasant burial book, page for 1899, and showed infant Charlotte dying in an infants home of bronchitis. She died on March 21, 1899, and was buried on March 22 in her mother's grave. Again, Robert Turner is shown as the purchaser of the grave.
