Jennie Ann Adams died June 26, 1945, at 296 Indian Road Cr., Toronto, also her residence. Married. Housewife. Born Canada on August 1, 1881. Parents Albert Adams and - McIntosh, both born Canada. Physician's name illegible, but may be C. W. Hain. Funeral director Wm. Speers, 2926 Dundas St. West, Toronto. Informant Wellington Willson, husband, 296 Indian Road Cr. Burial June 29, 1945, Prospect Cemetery.

Wm. Speers Funeral Home had been in business for quite some years. Sometimes the informant in a death was the funeral home and Speers name is to be found as the informant on numbers of death registrations. By 1945, the director of the funeral home was Harry W. Bell. This last per Might's Toronto City Directory, 1945. Mention is made of this because W. Speers was the informant in the death of Jennie's first husband, James Duff, some 30 years earlier. Funeral homes could command a certain family loyalty that sometimes lasted for decades, some of it no doubt community related.
