For the following, refer Vol. 3, More Notices from Methodist Papers, 1830-1857, by Rev. Donald A. McKenzie, Global Heritage Press, 2010, pages 92 & 93, which is in turn extracted from the Canada Christian Advocate, Aug. 22, 1848 edition, page 139. This tells that Richard Husband and Elanor Teeple, both of Nelson Township, were married on July 6th, at the residence of the bride's father, by Rev. J. Tufford. A record of the above marriage has not been found in a District marriage register. We will note here as a possible assist for research purposes that Rev. John Carpenter Tufford was a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Ellener's death registration tells that her parents were Eli Teeple and Margaret Zimmerman.
