Note | We first find Andrew Keachie with a William Keachie, probably his brother, working in Fulton County, Illinois, as of the 1850 U.S. census. They are working as carpenters. Later in the year, Andrew was in Union County, Kentucky, where he married Adeline Breshaw. Son Scott Keachie, who was born in approximately 1852 in Chicago, places his birth there, so we must believe that Andrew and Adeline spent at least some time in Chicago. They have yet to be found in the U.S. 1860 census or the 1861 Canadian census. By the time of the 1871 census, they are in Brantford. Son Scott is with them and is shown as age 18 and born in the U.S.. Andrew's brother George is the governor of the Brant County jail and Andrew is a turnkey. Andrew died in 1883 and is buried with his parents in Greenwood Cemetery in Brantford. Death reg. 001231-83 City of Brantford, Brant Co. Andrew S. Keachie died 22 July, 1883. Age 60 years.
