| Note | Hiram Buchanan's given name is variously spelled in different census records. It's shown as 'Hirum' on his marriage registration. On his daughters' birth registrations, however, his name is shown as Hiram, the rather more standard spelling. This is probably correct, for no other reason than the municipal clerk had the informant sign their name in the space marked 'informant' and, with both Mary and Edna, he signed his name as 'Hiram'. We do not have a baptism records for Hiram or Della, though they probably exist in a church archive. Their births were before civil registrations such as are found for Mary and Edna. Hiram was with his parents in North Dorchester Township at the time of the 1871 and 1881 censuses. He was in Ingersoll in 1891. His daughters Mary, 1890, and Edna, 1892, were born in Ingersoll. By the time of the 1901 census he is back in North Dorchester. He has yet to be found in the 1911 census, but he and Della are in Toronto in 1921. His died in 1930 and is buried in Prospect Cemetery, Toronto. Della died in 1954 and is also buried in Prospect Cemetery.
