At place of death 4 months. Parents Daniel Buchanan, born Ireland, and Ann Bradley, born Ireland (?). Informant Chas. A. Morehouse, RR2, Dorchester, Ontario, husband. Eliza's death registration places her birth as Mossley. This is indeed in North Dorchester Township, though well south of the Thames River. A map of an 1878 Middlesex gazette places the Dan Buchanan property to the north of the Thames. There was not a post office at Mossley until 1865. The family's residence was closer to Dorchester Station and there was a post office there from 1859. Betimes, the referral to a village when a birth, marriage, or death is being discussed will actually refer to a postal address. Probably, this was not the case with Eliza's birth, however. In the end, we may simply say that she was born in North Dorchester Township.
