It would be tempting to believe that Jacob is the Jacob Frey buried with parents Christian Frey and Annie Musselman in the Woolwich-Elmira Mennonite Cemetery. It seems safe to say that this is not the case.

Jacob Frey who died in Stratford, as shown in the death registration above, died in 1929. He is said, according to the death registration, to be buried in Stratford, though a gravestone record for him has not been found.

The Jacob Frey buried in Woolwich-Elmira Mennonite with Christian and Anna is recorded on the gravestone transcription as having died on 20 October, 1927. A death registration exists for this Jacob, but his parents are shown as John Frey and Fray Mosegman, both born Switzerland. The whole record resonates with the counter-intuitive, but this seems to be the case. Certainly, the above death registration filed at Stratford is clear enough. Jacob Frey, son of Christian Frey and Annie Musselman, died in 1929.

Ezra Eby, in volume 2 of his history of Waterloo Township (see page 134), tells that he was born on May 13, 1852, and that he resided in Stratford.
