| Note | In the 1891 census Harriet is with her widowed mother and, apparently, a brother and his wife in Turnberry Township, Huron County. With her are two children, Thomas age 12 and Agatha age 10. She is shown as being married, but Francis is not present. (The Piper farm was on lot 11 of the 10th concession of Turnberry. The town of Wingham is in Turnburry Township.) In the 1901 census, Harriet is in Wingham and shown as a domestic in a hotel. Death reg. 019367-36 Wingham, Huron Co. Harriet Carrick died in Wingham General Hospital on December 5, 1936. Residence Francis Street, Wingham. Widowed. Born Ontario. Age 80 yrs., 2 mos., 9 dys. Parents Thomas Piper and Agatha Thomas, both born England. Physician Walton A. McKibbon. Informant Mrs. Steven Piper, Wingham, sister-in-law. Burial Wingham Cemetery on December 8, 1936. |
