Note | A birth registration for Rosetta has not been found. She is shown on her marriage registration as the daughter of John A. MacDonald and Destamona Main. John and Destamona were married in Brantford in 1885 and John, a blacksmith in Branchton, is shown as a bachelor. The logic is that he is rather a widower, for there are several older children in the household in the 1891 census. Young Rosetta is present, age 3, so a year of birth for her of 1888 while approximate agrees with her year of birth as shown on her gravestone in section 6 of Mountview Cemetery in Galt. Rosetta is the grand daughter of Stephen Main and Rosetta Culham and a great grand daughter of Henry Culham and Desdemona Ann Munn, who appear in this tree. Note: John A. McDonald, so spelled on his gravestone in section 3 of Mountview in Galt, was married three times. His first wife was Fanny Rymal who died in 1873, age 21. His second wife was Maggie Dykeman who died in 1882 at age 30. His third wife, Destamona Main, died in 1951 at age 89. They are all buried in the McDonald family plot. |
