Parents Wm. and Mary Ann Milroy. Witnesses: Andrew J. Aitken, Ospringe, Ont., Christie J. Harvie, Plattsville, Ont. September 25, 1895, at North Dumfries. The groom was Presbyterian and the bride was United Presbyterian. Clergyman: D. King. Catherine Milroy was a daugher of William Milroy and Mary Ann Harvie; Mary Ann was the daughter of Alexander Harvie Jr. and his second wife, Catherine Campbell. Alexander Harvie had a son John by his first wife Janet McArthur. John Harvie was the father of Christie J. Harvie of Plattsville, mentioned as a witness in the above marriage registration. She was a first cousin, or to be technical a half first cousin, of Catherine's. For Christie to be an attendant for Catherine, the family's must have been close. Unhappily, Christie died three years later in 1898. |

| Note | Guessing here, but Catherine and Jane Milroy were probably baptized at First Church in Galt as records do indeed show for the later children. First Church's entries for baptisms appear to have fallen by the wayside for substantial periods and there are blocks of years that are missing from their records. Death reg. 037323-43 Galt, Waterloo Co. Mrs. Catherine Scott died at Galt on February 11th, 1943. Residence 11 King St. Widow. Born Ontario on May 11th. (Year not given). Age 74. Husband John Scott. Parents Wm. Milroy and Mary Harvie, both born Ontario. Informant Mrs. Geo. Leeds, 11 King St., Galt, daughter. Burial MVC, Galt, Feb. 13/43. Physician Dr. N. B. Grierson. |
