September 25, 1895, at North Dumfries. The groom was Presbyterian and the bride was United Presbyterian. Clergyman: D. King. Catherine Milroy was a daugher of William Milroy and Mary Ann Harvie; Mary Ann was the daughter of Alexander Harvie Jr. and his second wife, Catherine Campbell. Alexander Harvie had a son John by his first wife Janet McArthur. John Harvie was the father of Christie J. Harvie of Plattsville, mentioned as a witness in the above marriage registration. She was a first cousin, or to be technical a half first cousin, of Catherine's. For Christie to be an attendant for Catherine, the family's must have been close. Unhappily, Christie died three years later in 1898. |
