Witness William Carrick, Dumfries.
On June 14, 1866.

The June 20, 1866, issue of the Dumfries Reformer reads:
Bailey, James G. 14 Jun 1866 Isabella Carrick At Mr. Donald Frazer's, Dumfries, by Rev. Robt. Acheson. Groom of Galt; bride of Dumfries.
20 Jun 1866

This extraction from the Reformer was done by Rosemary Ambrose for the Waterloo Region branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society.

The county marriage registrations usually only locate the marriage in the county. The Dumfries Reformer notice places the marriage at the Donald Fraser farm. Mr. Fraser was Isabella's grandfather.

NoteAt the time of the 1851 census in North Dumfries, Robert Carrick is a widower and shown as a laborer and he appears to be in the Alexander Scrimger household. Isabella, his surviving daughter of his first marriage hasn't been found, but there is a child of age 9 named Sarah Fraser, in the Donald Fraser household. At the time of the 1861 census in North Dumfries Isabella Carrick, so named, age 19, is in the Fraser household. It's possible that they are one and the same. A family story has it that the Frasers raised Isabella after Sarah's death.
