Marriage 318
By license in Dumfries on November 15, 1850

Andrew Scott and Jane Carrick, both of Dumfries.
Witnesses John Scott and William Carrick.

The above marriage registration is as it appears on the page of the First Church marriage book. By this time, Dumfries Township was divided into North Dumfries (Waterloo County) and South Dumfries (Brant County). Old Robert Carrick was still living at the time of the marriage. In all probability, the marriage was held at the home of the bride's father, which would have been in North Dumfries.

DeathShe died on 24 September 1860 at Near Branchton, Canada West.
BurialShe was buried at Mountview Cemetery, Galt.
NoteJane's name appears on the stone with her husband Andrew. At the time of her death, Mountview Cemetery did not exist. She was likely buried in a private cemetery on the Scott family farm. Information for this is provided by a Scott family descendant. It is also believed that at some point some family members were reburied at Mountview in Galt. This is a matter of ongoing research.

The date and location of Jane's death is taken from the Dumfries Reformer, issue of 26 September 1860.
