| Note | Death reg. 016122-91 Galt, Waterloo Co. John Keachie died 24th May, 1891, age 64. Born North Dumfries. Carpenter. Presbyterian. Physician Dr. Sylvester. Informant Angus Keachie, machinist, Galt. An obituary for J.B. Keachie has been found in the Dumfries Reformer of Galt, issue of May 28, 1891, N175 reel 16. It notes that his mother was a sister of the late Alexander Buchanan, that he was a widower, his wife passing some 18 years previous, and that he was a builder of barns (other records call him a carpenter). It says that he was born near Branchton in 1827. It names his family as James of East Saginaw, Michigan, Angus and Mrs. C.B. Linton of Galt. A place of burial for John Buchanan Keachie has not been found. |
